Thomas Maos was born in 1964 in Stuttgart / Germany.
In 1990 he started to work as a composer for theatre music, pop-rock music and experimental music and orchestra (sonic visions 2013). Thomas Maos is a kind of "crossover artist", performing projects together with visual artists, actors, writers, dancers and musicians for the past 20 years.
For his performances he developed his "electronic guitar" where he creates abstract and tonal electronic sound fields. During the scholarships of 2003 (Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg) and 2008 (Schloß Solitude Stuttgart) 2 solo-albums were released:
chill in drill out / nurnichtnur LC 05245 with solo pieces for electronic guitar and Silent artOrchestra / fastball, sony with compositions for dobro and electronics.
As an extrapolation of his "Werkstattbühne" NIET for free improvised music Thomas Maos founded the CAMP-festival for Klangkunst and visual arts together with Fried Dähn at 1999.
Ever since then, the CAMP-festival became one of the most innovative festivals of audio-visual art in Europe. 2013 CAMP was invited to Salon Suisse at Biennials Venice. Since 1997, Thomas Maos is composing music for plays and performing live on stage together with actors. In 2002 he got the "German Theaterpreis" for the piece "Sag doch was" , where he played guitar and talkbox as an alternate for the voice of an old man, who lost his ability to talk.

Thomas Maos s-a născut în anul 1964 în Stuttgart/Germania.
În anul 1990 a început să lucreze ca și compozitor de muzică de teatru, muzică pop-rock și muzică experimentală și de orchestră (Sonic Visions 2013). Thomas este un "artist crossover" deoarece a derulat în ultimii 20 de ani proiecte împreună cu artiști vizuali, actori, scriitori, dansatori și muzicieni.
Pentru performance-urile sale și-a dezvoltat "chitara electronică" cu ajutorul căreia crează câmpuri abstracte de sunet electronic. În timpul burselor care i-au fost acordate, a lansat două albume solo: chill in drill out / nurnichtnur LC 05245 cu piese solo pentru chitară electrică și Silent artOrchestra / fastball, sony cu compoziții pentru dobro și electronics.
Ca și extrapolare a proiectului pentru muzică liberă, improvizată "Werkstattbühne" NIET, Thomas Maos a fondat alături de Fried Dähn în anul 1999, Festivalul CAMP pentru muzică și arte vizuale. De atunci Festivalul CAMP a devenit unul din cele mai inovative festivaluri audio-vizuale din Europa. În anul 2013 CAMP a fost invitat la Salon Suisse în cadrul Bienalei de la Veneția. Din 1997 Thomas Maos compune muzică pentru piese de teatru, defășurându-și performance-ul live pe scenă alături de actori. În 2002 a primit "Premuiul German pentru Teatru" pentru pieasa "Sag doch was", în componența căreia el cântă la chitară și operează un talkbox ca alternativă pentru vocea unui om în vârstă care și-a pierdut capacitatea de a vorbi.
