Joris RUEHL

Born in 1982 in Colmar (France).After having studied classical music and electroacoustic in Lyon with J. Didonato, he plays now mostly in the fields of contemporary and improvised music.
He plays contemporary music in ensembles like "L'instant donné", "Hiatus" or “United Instruments of Lucilin”.
He is also involved in improvised music and performances, taking part to festivals such as, Moers Festival 08 und 09, Fruits de Mhère, Diskurs in Giessen, Hundert Grad in Berlin. He played a duo with a dancer in La force de l’Art at the Grand Palais in Paris. He played with musicians like Michel Doneda, Lê Quan Ninh, Thomas Lehn, Eivind Lønning, Kim Myhr, Anthony Pateras, Eve Risser, Joel Grip, etc. He is also involved in the label "Umlaut Records", which produces and supports young artists in the fields of improvised music.
He is generally attracted to deal with visual arts, which he does for instance as a member of the “Timeart Ensemble” (improvised music and multimedia) based in Cologne.
