Andrea Gern studied History and History of Art at the Universities of Würzburg and Stuttgart.
She has tought History of Art, History of Costume and Cultural History at the Stuttgart State School of Fashion, at the Stuttgart College of Fashion and at the University of Applied Sciences in Schwäbisch Hall. As an author, critic and journalist she has worked mainly for the magazine ELLE and the daily newspaper Stuttgarter Nachrichten, writing on dance, film, arts, culture and fashion. She now works for the Stuttgart Ballet, where she is responsible for Press, Public Relations and Dramaturgy.
