Thomas Maos is a sound-scientist who reaches out for the limits
of rock, pop, extemporized and experimental music. Characteristic
for his work are improvised concerts and projects with artist
of other sections, such as fine art, theater, action, performance
and literature.
Together with his wife Birgit Susan Riegger and his two kids
Valentin and Rafael he lives in the French quarter in Tübingen.

Since 1997
Participation in the contact studies of popular music at the
academy of music in Hamburg;
Record-contract with Dead Poets at BMG Ariola. Three times
he clubbed through France with the Dead Poets. 500 concerts
in Germany and Switzerland followed.
Since 1993 extension of the electronic guitar:
Through a complex soundsystem, the spectrum of sound is vastly
extended.
By the use of a self-developed electronic modulation-tool,
different materials (wood, metal, paper,...) such as sampler,
effects, and kitchen instruments receive a completely new
function and the electric guitar turns into a an orchestral
body of sound.
NIET – New Improviser Ensemble – it is a workshop
stage for free extemporized music. Once a month they play
concert with an audience from all over Europe.
