Author of five books about experimental
and improvised musics, always in relation with other arts
and with philosophical, sociological and anthropological subjects,
Rui Eduardo Paes writes for several European publications,
namely JL Jornal de Letras (Portugal), Jazz.pt (Portugal),
Oro Molido (Spain), Revue & Corrigée (France) and
Mex Text (Germany, on-line), maintaining also a personal
website with interviews, articles and record reviews in
Portuguese, English and French.
He was one of the founders of the Ernesto de Sousa Fellowship
and is one of the members of its juri, in representation of
the Luso-American Foundation for the Development, and was
one of the comissaries in the Lisbon Apreciation Comission
for the 2005-2008 Supports of the Art Institut Portuguese
Ministery of Culture.
He is one of the directors of Granular,
a cultural association that has as main finality the promotion
of experimentalism in sound and audiovisual arts in Portugal,
and he is the consultant of the store, distributor and discographic
label AnAnAnA.
