CAMP workshops

CAMP Festival 07 wird erstmalig Workshops und Vorträge zum Thema Audiovisuelle Kunst, Visual Music und Vj’ing anbieten.
Die Teilnahme ist frei.

Vorkenntnisse in Klangbearbeitung und Video Software erwünscht, aber keine Bedingung.
Unterrichtssprache: Englisch
Maximale Teilnehmerzahl: 8 Personen je Workshop

CAMP lectures

Vortrags- und Diskussionsabend zu Visual Music mit Verena Kuni und Axel
Stockburger, konzipiert und moderiert von Cornelia und Holger Lund

Verena Kuni forscht und lehrt als Wissenschaftlerin zu Themen und Fragen
der zeitgenössischen Künste und Medienkulturen; aktuell Fokus auf Medien
der Imagination, Technologien der Transformation, Philosophischem Spielzeug, Cyborg-Entomologie, DIY-Kulturen und Digitalem Verfall.
Sie schreibt als freie Autorin und Kunstkritikerin regelmäßig für
internationale Print- und Netzmagazine; seit 1997 hat sie außerdem eine
monatliche Kunstradiosendung auf RadioX/Ffm.
Von 1995 bis 1999 war sie Kuratorin für das Kasseler Dokumentarfilm &
Videofest, seit 1999 leitet sie dort die jährlich stattfindende
<interfiction>-Tagung für Kunst, Medien- und Netzkultur.

Verena Kunis Kurzvortrag beim Camp-Festival behandelt Visuelle Musik als
Mind Machine.


Axel Stockburger ist ein Künstler und Theoretiker, der in Wien lebt
und arbeitet. Er studierte an der Hochschule für Angewandte Kunst in
Wien bei Peter Weibel und promovierte an der London University of
the Arts (LCC). Seine Filme und Installationen werden international
gezeigt.

Neben anderen Projekten ist er Mitbegründer des unabhängigen Wiener
Kunst TV Kanales TIV (1998) und kollaborierte zwischen 2000 und 2004
mit dem Londoner Künstlerkollektiv D-Fuse. Derzeit arbeitet er als
künstlerisch-wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter an der Akademie der
Bildenden Künste in Wien im Ordinariat für Kunst und Digitale Medien.
Er forscht und schreibt zu Themen wie Sound Art, Game Culture und
Bildender Kunst.

Axel Stockburger spricht über Visual Music und ludische Theorien.

Im Anschluss haben die Hörer die Möglichkeit, der nicht öffentlichen Generalprobe für die Performances am Samstag und Sonntag beizuwohnen.

CAMP workshops / lectures

For the first time, CAMP offers free lectures and workshops with selected CAMP artists. They will be talking about their work, demonstrate their creative working process and give a brief introduction on audio-visual software and programming.

Following artists will ge giving workshops and lectures at CAMP 07:

Qualification:
Participants should have knowledge of the basics in sound editing and/or video and vj software.

A special lecture on Visual Music will be offered on Friday 7-8 pm.
After the lecture listeners will have the opportunity to attend the non-public general rehearsal of the Camp projects being performed on saturday and sunday.

Entrance: 3 Euro.

Verena Kuni researches and lectures on contemporary arts and media
cultures, with focus a. o. on imagination of media; technologies of
transformation; philosophical toys; cyborg entomology, D.I.Y. strategies and
digital decay.
As a writer and critic she is a regular contributor for international
magazines in print and online; since 1997 she runs a monthly art radio show
on RadioX/Ffm.
From 1995-1999 she worked as a curator for the Kassel Dokumentarfilm &
Videofest, since 1999 she is ibid. director of <interfiction>, an annual
interdisciplinary conference for art, media + net cultures.

Verena Kunis lecture at the Camp Festival deals with visual music as mind
machine.


Axel Stockburger is an artist and theorist who lives and works in Vienna.
He studied at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna with
Peter Weibel and holds a PhD from the University of the Arts, London.
His films and installations are shown internationally.

Among other projects he has initiated the independent art television
channel TIV in Vienna in 1998 and collaborated on international
projects with the London based media art group D-Fuse (2000-2004). At
present he works as scientific staff member at the Department for
Visual Arts and Digital Media / Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. He
researches and writes about subjects ranging from sound art over game
culture to fine art.

Axel Stockburger makes a contribution about visual music and game theory.
