CRISTINA LILIENFELD studied choreography at the National University Of Drama and Film UNATC I. L. Caragiale from Bucharest (graduated in 2008) and psychology (graduated in 2007) and she is in a continuous search for the meeting point of these two disciplines. She studied contemporary dance techniques like: Contact Improvisation, Axis Syllabus, Feldenkreis, Flying Low Technique and Real Time Composition but also self-development techniques in her training as a experiential psychology counselor.

She created several performances like:
"Lay(ers)" winner of Alt Concurs Naţional de Coregrafie (The National Choregraphy Contest), created during a residency in 2013 with which she had several representations in Luxembourg, Bucharest and Seattle.
"Nu toti sunt eroi"(They're Not All Heroes) in collaboration with Smaranda Gabudeanu which was presented in several festival like Temps D'Images from Cluj, Romania, Like CNDB festival - Bucharest, Romania etc.
"My invisible Body " which was presented in November 2014. Before working for this project she made a film with dancer Georgiana Dobre called " My Invisible Body: Part One".

She collaborated with artists like: Cosmin Manolescu (choreographer),
Madalina Dan (choreographer), Irinel Anghel (musician, performer, creator), Dilmana Yordanova (visual artist), Mihaela Dancs (choreographer), Georgiana Dobre and Ana Costea (dancers), Smaranda Gabudeanu (actress, performer, puppeteer), Andreea David (performer). She worked during workshops with artist and theoreticians like: Andre Lepecki, Nancy Stark Smith, Benno Vorham, Scott Wells, Martin Keogh, Mat Voorner , Lola Keraly, Florin Fieroiu, Anna Wehsarg, Meg Stuart, Phillip Gemacher, Kira Kirsch, Baris Mihci, Rich Brown, etc.

 

Cristina also teaches classes for nonprofessional and gets involved in building the Contact Improvisation community in Bucharest by organising jam sessions and inviting foreign teachers like Bernd Knappe (Germany). Her wish is to take this technique and the joy of dancing to a wide audience of people.
