Juri de Marco

Juri de Marco studied classical horn at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin, with jazz piano as a subsidiary subject at the Jazz Institute Berlin. He also began studying jazz trumpet at the Leipzig Musikhochschule für Musik in 2015.

Juri de Marco is a holder of a scholarship from the Reutlingen-based Christel-Guthörle-Stiftung and has held a Concerto 21 scholarship from the Alfred-Töpfer-Stiftung since 2016. In addition, he has won awards in many competitions and performed as a soloist with various orchestras.

Most recently, de Marco was academician of the Heidelberger Frühling music festival for Szenario Zukunft (future scenario), participated in concerts of the Berliner Philharmoniker, the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, and the NDR Big Band, and, with his STEGREIF. Orchester ensemble, won the start-up culture prize of the Hochschule für Musik Hanns-Eisler Berlin, in 2017.
