Antun Božičević (HR)

Born 1970 in Andrijasevci, Croatia. Graduated in 1999 from the Painting Department of Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. Lives and works in Zagreb, Croatia. The artist's interest lies in the relationship of society towards art and in providing a critical view on socially, politically and economically absurd situations, repression and aggression. He takes up the up-to-date issues that are relevant to his profession, the crucial problems of society and potential individual fears. His installations are technology-based, with emphasis on sound and ready-made aesthetics. They are a combination of high- and low-technologies with ready-made industrial objects, found footage and the like. By means of interactive installations and environments the audience often becomes an equal in creating an artwork that depends on its movement, pulling it inside the project through sound, smell, feeling of insecurity, anxiety, irony and humor.
